We are regulated by Ofgem; they are the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets. Ofgems principal objective is to protect the interests of existing and future electricity and gas consumers. They do this in a variety of ways including: promoting value for money, promoting security of supply and sustainability, the supervision and development of markets and competition and the regulation and delivery of governmental schemes.

Ofgem regulates how much revenue we can earn and what we must deliver to earn it, this is all set out within our Business Plan.

RIIO-ED1 is the current Business Plan framework, this represents Revenue = Incentives + Innovation + Outputs.

In the ED1 framework there are currently 6 categories under which our 76 commitments are structured, within the new ED2 structure Ofgem would like to consolidate this into 3 categories to make it as simple as possible.

It is changes like that which mean that we need your opinion, thoughts and ideas to help us build a new strategy.

We are currently in the process of creating our next Business Plan, RIIO-ED2. This will start on the 1st April 2023 and cover a 5 year period, taking us to 2028. It may sound far away but we are starting to consult with our stakeholders now.

What would you like to see us do more of, less of or none of? Help us to understand the wants and needs of our customers so that we can build a plan with you.
